Hardanger Christmas Wreath, Thea Dueck Design

Victoria Sampler, Thea Dueck Design: Hardanger Christmas wreath

I have worked this Victoria Sampler design from stash threads, ribbons and fabric. Last week I was visiting the Victoria Sampler website to read their current newsletter and discovered they are planning to retire their cyberclass format after this coming September (2014). I have often considered taking one of their cyberclasses and looking over their schedule I saw that they are offering this design in a class talk by Wendy. I signed up for that one and two cyberclasses that are to be taught by Thea. To add to my enjoyment of these three classes I have purchased their accessories and the suggested fabrics for the designs.

The worked size for my first stitching of this design is 6.85 inches point to point. I worked for threads, ribbons and fabric from my stash. The white fabric that I used is a prefinished doily produced by Ubelhor in Austria, purchased from Nordic Needle. The fabric is trimmed with a 1 inch needlewoven edging. The doily measures 15 inch square with a 13 inch area for stitching.

The design suggested to start from outer edge in but I decided to start with the inner klosters.

Since I am giving this away as a gift I decided not to fill in two of the corner hearts (to apply this gift is given with love).
