Hardanger

Thea Dueck Design: Hardanger design
Cate Grundy: Brazilian Embroidery, Beginner’s Autumn Bouquet

I used the Victoria Sampler’s Christmas Wreath design for the hardanger area of this doily.  Thread used for the kloster blocks is size 8 Perle.

For my fall color doily I decided for the center flowers to use a free pattern that I found on the Brazilian Embroidery Guild website. The pattern is called Beginner’s Autumn Bouquet, designed by Cate Grundy. The pattern is a 30 cm square so I left several elements off of it as I needed a smaller size. It is worked in Edmar rayon thread in the colors and weights suggested within the pattern.

The outer edge of my finished (hemmed) doily is about 24 inches square. I used Ivory lugana fabric: 20 count, Zweigart, 52% cotton, 48% viscose. Purchased from 123Stitch.com.
