Victoria Sampler December Birthday Bellpull
The worked area is 103h x 26w (7.3 inches by 1.85 inches).
My sister gave me the September, October, November and December birthday design phamplet last year for my birthday (December). She also gave me the suggested 28 count cashel fabric and threads for this design.
I decided to stitch my December Birthday bellpull design on a 28 count banded open worked edge linen fabric. I purchased the metal bell pull hardware and the banded linen from the Nordic Needle website.
I used all the suggested threads and colors for this design except for the white threads (the floss and size 8 Perle).
At the bottom I switched out the size 8 DMC perle for a single strand of Caron Wildflowers – Banana (#131). I like this weight for hardanger kloster blocks and this particular color, Banana, is a range of soft greens-pinks within a white thread. I know in this photo it looks white, but in person you can see the soft green-pink shading of the thread.
For the three strands of white floss that was called for in the flowers and the top worked area I used three strands of Trebizond White Silk.
The finished size (not counting the metal bellpull hardware) is 9 inches by 3.5 inches.
