Seafoam Bookmark

This is one of my first hardanger worked pieces.

For my beach and sea colors I selected to use Caron Wildflower, Aquamarine which is 100% Pima cotton. Single strand, it is a one ply that is equivalent to size #8 pearl cotton (comes 36 yards per skein). These fibers are hand-painted and permanent. They are dyed in small amounts so each batch will vary in distribution of color and in intensity.

I decided to use DMC size 8 ECRU thread for the solid motifs, twisted bars, woven bars and webs.

The fabric that I used is a 20-count Cream Lugana bookmark with pre-finished lace edge purchased from the NordicNeedle website. The bookmark measures 3.75″ x 8.675″ with a stitch area of 2.5″ x 7.75″.
