Counted Cross-Stitch
This was a cute design to work on and I would enjoy stitching another to give away as a Christmas card.
I purchased this design from the web site 123stitch.com. Design is 2012 Ornament 10 Gingerbread Cookie by Little House Needleworks.
Most of the listed threads for this design is DMC floss, but one thread is Crescent Colours Brandied Pears which I used on the main gingerbread person. It is a pretty, hand dyed (not color fast) cotton floss. I also used up a stash piece of a hand dyed dark green cotton thread for the spruce branches in the corners.
I worked my piece on 14 count dill dyed Aida by Picture This Plus, purchased on 123stitch.com. First time I ordered this dill Aida I thought it would be of a green shading (like in the photo), but it is more like a dark tea shaded fabric. Though at first disappointed in the dill fabric being in the brown shades instead of green I now find myself often ordering this fabric as it has worked well with several of my winter theme projects.
