Wanting to learn free motion quilting, I decided to create place mats and other small-medium size projects to practice on. Quite enjoying the mosaic designs that can be created using border striped fabrics, I went looking for free patterns and found Jinny Beyer’s website. Pattern for the runners and doilies shown below are from Jinny’s free patterns for border prints, found at: border patterns. There is also a youtube tutorial: Jinnybeyer border print tutorial.
I am just learning to free motion meander quilting and so far have only done so on the runner at the bottom of the second photo.
