Bargello style Christmas Tree, stitched on 24 count Congress Cloth, color 9032 (Vintage Merlot). Purchased tri-fold card with Christmas Tree cut out.
Stitch is Bargello over four fabric threads with two steps.
Threads Needed:
- 2 spools of Sulky, 12 wt. Blendables, color 4051 (Forever Green).
- 1 card each of Rainbow blending threads by Glissen Gloss: color 407 (Brass) and color 617 (Red)
- 1 skein of Caron Wildflowers, color 219 (Cardinal)
- 1 spool of Kreinik, size 12 braid, color 3540 (Bolero Black)
Main tree:
Trunk: Over stitch one strand of Kreinik Bolero Black, two lines down center of tree to create outlined trunk. Come back up trunk with the Bolero Black weaving a cross over stitch every 4-5 stitches up the trunk. Tree base/stand: Bargello style using one strand of Wildflower Cardinal combined with one strand of Rainbow red. Design worked on 5- by 7-inch stretcher bars. |
