Needlepainting: long and short stitch

Trish Burr Design: Robin, DMC thread

I enjoyed stitching this little guy and the fun was greatly enhanced when several of us SF members (Stitchin’ Fingers website) who where stitching this piece begun chatting with each other. It really was nice to be part of a group working on the same design, sharing points of interest and many woes (lots of pulled out stitches) as we made our way through our projects.

Oh, I got myself really in a tizzy with my first leaf (the upper left one). Just couldn’t get it right. After the second complete removal of stitches for that leaf I went to Mary Corbet’s website, http://www.needlenthread.com/, searched on leaf, read her several articles on various stitches that she used for leaves and found a long, short stitch discussion that greatly led me through stitching that leaf. After that, the other leaves were quite easy to do.
