I did not like the floppy irises shown within the instruction book for this section and decided to change them to look more like the irises shown in Ann Cox’s A-Z of Silk ribbon flowers book.
The Iris stems (twisted long stitch) are worked in 4mm silk and the leaves are 7mm silk, color No 35 (Pine & Antique Brown) from Di van Niekerk’s website. The dark yellow silk used in the Iris flowers is a 13mm and the lighter yellow petals of the Iris flowers is a 7mm silk.
For the leaves and greens within the rock roses and forget-me-nots I used 4mm silk No 35 which is mentioned above. The 4mm silk ribbon for the rock roses is from my stash, I do not know the color numbers. The forget-me-nots were worked in 4mm white silk ribbon that I had painted in a blue-purple range.
