I selected this design because I like to work the scalloped looking knotted double cast-on stitch which form the base of the rose. Instructions were pretty clear (for the various stitches of this design) but it did help me a lot to view a youtube tutorial on working the knotted double cast-on stitch.
I did the left (larger rose) using the knotted double cast-on stitch and for the right (smaller rose) I decided to do a plain double cast-on stitch so I could view them side-by-side in this design.
From previous worked pieces that included long bullions (70+ wraps) I have learned to wax my needle before I begin each bullion petal.
