The fabric, purchased as a half yard (on a good sale) several years ago sat unused because it was a bright white 20-22 count aida. It was too bright, too small a count for my aida projects. Then I joined SF, and many of the members were dyeing their fabrics this way and that into interesting designs. That lead me to cutting the fabric into a fat quarter size piece, put used coffee grounds into a bowl of water, add crumpled up fabric and next morn I had this warm, beige brown fabric with a lovely run of darker design here and there.
So here is my first use of my coffee dyed fabric, I like the soft color look of the fabric and I’ve got to make another card using a few of my favorite stitches.
This 5 x7 inch tri-fold green card has 3 1/2 x5 inch oval opening. The card was purchased on the 123stitch website. The thread is Caron Wildflower 207 Bermuda Reef color. Design is mine.
I used double sided stitchery tape to secure the fabric onto the card.
